The Swedish company Götaverken Miljö won the contract to supply two new scrubbers for the Holstebro power plant in Denmark. The incineration of waste to make power creates chlorides and dioxins. Levels of these dangerous emissions need to be kept within specified limits, and the upgrade will ensure the plant meets the new EU directive. As part of the system, Götaverken Miljö contracted Flebu to supply two centrifugal flue gas fans with frequency converters and silencers. Using duplex acid-proof material and special welding techniques, Flebu designed the fans to handle the high pressures and corrosive environment created by the incineration process. Both fans were installed and tested by Flebu and are working perfectly.
