Metso Power, formerly Kvaerner Power, knows how important it is to bring in the right expertise at the right time. Flebu was contracted to supply four heavy-duty fans to a waste incineration power plant being built in Chile for the pulp and paper producer Arauco. Local manpower was used to erect and install the fan, but Metso considered it beneficial to use Flebu for testing and quality control. Through the process of analysis, resonance testing and balancing, several installation errors were discovered and corrected, saving Metso the high cost of repairs and downtime had the system been put in use. This just goes to show that it pays to get it right from the start.
